Nootka Island
Nootka Island is an island that is often over looked as it is nestled in the inlets along the west coast of Vancouver Island. It did play a part in a significant world event in 1790's. A dispute between Britain and Spain, refereed to as the Nootka Crisis, almost lead to war between the two countries. A meeting held at Nootka between George Vancouver and Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra resulted in a document known as the Nootka Convention.
